Our Chefs

Our chefs range from young professionally trained chefs with experience cooking for private clients to experienced caterers or restauranteurs who work full time in the industry.

Here are a few examples of chefs in the community:

Emily Beard

I have always loved to cook! My love of cooking began with baking. As a child I would spend my Saturday's baking cakes and my Sunday's selling them at my brother's rugby club. As I grew older I moved into hosting dinner parties for all of my friends. My home became a social spot where my family and friends would sit around the table into the late hours eating good food and enjoying each others company and this was much the same during my three years at Newcastle University.

Emily Farr

My cooking experience started at home, where I do most of the cooking for my family and enjoy hosting dinner parties. During my gap year I completed a four-week cookery course at The Food of Course Cookery School, then worked as a chalet host for five months in Les Menuires.

Bea Apthorp

Hi I’m Bea. I have been a chef for four years and have worked all over the UK and abroad. I am professionally trained at Leith’s School of Food and Wine and started my own Catering business in 2018. My love of cooking starting with hosting dinner parties as my mother always said she was happy that I had them but I had to do all the cooking and clearing up!

Lucy Parker

Hi, I’m Lucy and I’m currently studying for my Masters in Chemistry at Oxford, but my real passion is cooking!

I’ve had extensive experience cooking for people’s dinner parties in London, Wiltshire and Devon, and I’m happy to cater to any specific requests that you may have. When I’m catering in someone’s home I try to not only produce fresh, locally sourced, exciting food, but also be enthusiastic and smiling whilst doing it!

Greg Hewitt

From a young age I have been passionate about food and sharing this passion with my friends and family for whom I regularly host dinner parties and lunches. I have completed cooking courses at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York and at
The Avenue Cookery School. I look forward to working closely with you to cater for your specific needs, and to ensure you and your guests have a memorable evening.

Hannah Thomas

I’m a chef, baker, forager and recipe developer. My cooking career began with a ski season as a chalet girl; I then worked as a private cook in various holiday homes during university summer holidays. After graduating, I trained at Ballymaloe Cookery School for 3 months, which lead me to working as a chef at The Ethicurean in Bristol followed by Cora Peal in London.
